Great Dinner Recipes After a Day on the Slopes

Dinner recipes from the Tipsy Apron after a day on the slopes

Recipes worth gathering for — a little messy, very delicious.

There’s something about a full day of skiing that makes dinner taste even better. Maybe it’s the cold mountain air, maybe it’s the miles of runs, or maybe it’s just the simple joy of everyone finally peeling off their ski boots and gathering around the table.

This year our spring break adventure brought us to Big Sky, Montana, where the views are big, the snow is beautiful, and by the end of the day everyone is seriously hungry. After long days on the mountain, we keep dinner simple, comforting, and guaranteed to satisfy a crowd.

These are the kinds of meals that warm you up, fill the kitchen with good smells, and keep everyone lingering at the table just a little longer.

Chicken Soup

After a cold day on the slopes, nothing beats a big bowl of homemade chicken soup. It’s cozy, nourishing, and exactly what everyone wants when they walk through the door chilled from the mountain.

Why Comfort Food Is Perfect After Skiing

After hours in the cold, your body craves warm, hearty meals. Comfort foods like pasta, soups, and rich sauces help refuel tired muscles and warm everyone up after a day on the mountain. Plus, ski trips are all about gathering together at the end of the day — and these recipes are made for exactly that.

Ski trips have a way of creating the best kind of memories — long days outside, rosy cheeks, and everyone gathered together afterward sharing stories from the slopes. And while the skiing may be the reason for the trip, the dinners are what everyone remembers.

Good food. Great company. And maybe a glass of something warm to toast another day on the mountain.

A little messy. Very delicious.
