Recipes worth gathering for — a little messy, very delicious.
Tommy’s Guacamole is proof that simple really is best. A recipe shared with my by my brother in law, with just a handful of fresh ingredients — ripe avocados, scallions, lime, lemon, a Roma tomato, and the right touch of seasoning — it comes together in minutes and disappears even faster. No fillers, no fuss. Just clean, bright flavor that lets the avocados shine.
What makes this recipe special isn’t just the balance of citrus and freshness — it’s the way it shows up. It’s on the table at family dinners, backyard gatherings, game days, and any time there’s a bag of chips nearby.
The lime and lemon give it a fresh pop, the scallions add just enough bite, and the Roma tomato brings a little sweetness and color. It’s chunky, scoopable, and best enjoyed straight from the bowl — preferably surrounded by people you love.
It’s simple. It’s classic. And it’s one of those recipes that feels like family.
A little messy. Very delicious. Just like all the best traditions.
